Explain your timing requirements
State your preferred month and what affects your arrangements, such as when the person handing over or collecting can attend. If you have a specific date requirement, explain it as a request. Do not assume that date reserves a place or guarantees shipment.
Distinguish events in the journey
Ask separately about handover timing, any supplied departure or arrival estimates, and collection arrangements. An estimated vessel arrival is not necessarily the time a car can be collected. Ask the operator to explain each date and its confirmation status so you do not plan around an assumption.
Ask about the relevant cut-off
If a cut-off applies, ask whether it concerns documents or vehicle handover and request confirmation for your arrangements. Do not calculate a vehicle cut-off from a departure date. This page does not publish unconfirmed sailings or cut-off dates.
Recheck when details change
Tell the operator if vehicle readiness, documents or the people involved change. Ask how updates will be communicated and which confirmation to check before travelling to handover. Request the current arrangements without assuming an earlier message still applies.
